Resident in Counseling

Hye Joon is a Resident in Counseling at Healthy Minds, PLLC providing individual counseling services in-person at the Alexandria location. Hye Joon also provides support virtually via telehealth. She graduated from Marymount University with an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During her graduate program, Hye Joon was selected as a 2022 HRSA (Health Resources and Services Association) fellow and completed her internship serving at-risk adolescents struggling with substance use.

Hye Joon works with children, adults, and families and offers counseling services for those struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorder, trauma, and addiction. Drawing from cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theories, she utilizes an integrative approach to therapy and explores thoughts that influence feelings and behaviors, and vice versa, while recognizing that the origin of those thoughts and feelings may be unconscious.

Hye Joon believes each person’s story is unique and the client is the expert of their own life and experiences. She listens with empathy and respect and aims to meet her clients where they are to walk alongside them in their healing journey.

Hye Joon Pak is a Resident in Counseling and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She works under the supervision of Reland Finch, LPC.
