Maggie Kappler

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello. I’m so glad you are doing this! Starting a journey to a higher level of wellness is an amazing endeavor. I would love the opportunity to take this voyage with you.

Here is a little bit about me and my background. I served in the United States Navy for over ten years and have been a practicing therapist for seven years. I am comfortable working with many different populations with varying levels of issues. Depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and military-specific stressors are a small cross-section of the issues I treat.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in two states. My therapy with you will take a client-centered approach. This means that the work you and I do will be tailored to you specifically using a large variety of modalities. Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, Gestalt techniques, and many others will be applied during our time together as our collaboration dictates what will be most effective.

I am a laid-back person with a robust, and admittedly sometimes immature, sense of humor who is a big believer in radical acceptance. You can expect these things and many more during our sessions. I offer you this quote and assure you I’m here to listen.

“In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers.”  -F. R.
