Adoma Adae

Adoma Adae, Resident in Counseling

Adoma Adae is compassionate and dedicated to everyone whom she supports. She is driven by the belief that healing is possible for everyone and is committed to walking alongside clients as they move toward a happier and more hopeful future. She believes that change does not occur overnight, yet it occurs over time!

Adoma has a warm and nonjudgmental style where she integrates motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and person-centered techniques into her sessions. She believes in meeting her clients where they are, honoring their stories, and partnering with them to create meaningful change. Adoma has experience in recovery assistance and addiction therapy. She has some years of experience in assisting individuals in navigating substance use challenges and starting over to find stability.

Adoma is deeply passionate about empowering youth.  She has worked closely with adolescents and young adults, creating safe and supportive spaces. She believes in meeting them where they are and allowing them to openly express themselves, understand their emotions, and build healthier coping skills.  Her approach with youth is rooted in patience and environmental understanding. She worked in the Human Trafficking field and was equally committed to supporting women who have experienced trauma and major life transitions. She brings a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective to her work while helping clients develop resilience and feel heard, as well as seen, during their healing journey.

In addition, Adoma has a strong passion for working with diverse communities, drawing on cultural humility and deep respect for their various traditions, values, and experiences. She strives to provide culturally responsive care that honors clients’ backgrounds, supports family systems, and bridges gaps in accessing mental health services. Her goal within this space centers on building trust, reducing stigma, and fostering a healing environment where individuals and families feel understood and supported.

Adoma is a Resident in Counseling and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She works under the supervision of Christy Heyn, LPC.
