Caroline Koscheski, Resident in Counseling

Resident in Counseling

Caroline graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education. After graduation, she was an elementary-level special education teacher for two years. She graduated with a Master of Education degree from Texas Christian University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as completing the requirements to be a school counselor. During her time at Texas Christian University, she has worked in the school system, supporting students’ academic, social, and mental health. Caroline also worked in the private practice setting, which allowed her the opportunity to work with individually assigned clients from age two through adulthood. Caroline is excited to be working with the wonderful team at Healthy Minds Therapy!

Caroline uses a Solution-Focused approach when working with clients, recognizing that no client is the same. She believes that the client is the expert on his or her own life. She strives to join with the client to find strengths within the client and find solutions for life challenges, and create goals for the therapy. Caroline uses various interactive and hands-on activities, such as expressive arts, sand tray therapy, and play therapy techniques. She enjoys using different activities in sessions to assist clients in expressing themselves. Caroline wants to provide her clients with a safe, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere.

As a Resident in Counseling, Caroline is involved in Virginia’s state licensure process to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  She works under the supervision of Carolyn Alvarado, LPC, at Healthy Minds Therapy.  For any questions or concerns related to Caroline’s work, Carolyn can be reached at calvarado@healthyminds-therapy.com or by phone at (540) 845-6940.
