Erin Gallagher, a social work supervisee, is thrilled to join Healthy Minds Therapy on her journey to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds a Master’s degree in social work, with a specialization in school social work, from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). During her time at VCU, Erin successfully completed two clinical-based internships in separate Title I public schools. Her undergraduate studies in social work at James Madison University (JMU) were equally impactful, culminating in a senior-year internship at a nonprofit organization that provides case management services for individuals with brain injuries.

Erin has experience working with toddlers, children, and adolescents with disabilities and mental health concerns. Specifically, Erin has worked with individuals with Autism, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, and learning, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Erin is also informed about chronic illnesses and brain injuries, and their impact on mental well-being. Erin has experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds and is committed to creating a welcoming, trauma-informed, affirming, and safe space for each client. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Mindfulness-based techniques, and much more in her practice. Erin understands the importance of viewing an individual as a whole and utilizes person-in-environment and client-centered techniques to ensure an all-encompassing approach.

Erin is looking forward to utilizing her expertise to support children and adolescents aged three and above, as well as young adults. She is very excited to begin her role and provide support to her future clients!

As a Supervisee, Erin is also committed to serving clients with competence and integrity and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia under the supervision of Shelton Poulter, Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
