Resident in Counseling
Pronouns: she/her
Tiana is a Resident in Counseling at Healthy Minds Therapy with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New England College (Henniker, New Hampshire). At New England College, Tiana also attained her undergraduate degree in Psychology, which she achieved while serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Throughout her time in service, Tiana gained essential skills that involved conflict resolution, mediating interpersonal problems, risk management, team building, leadership, and honing her attention to detail. Her military career has also provided her with experience working alongside many individuals of diverse backgrounds. Tiana’s experience further opened her eyes to the need for mental health awareness, support, and advocacy efforts for underserved populations. Her passion and empathy for others grew as a result of her own life experiences and challenges.
Tiana strives to support the transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) community by implementing gender-affirming approaches that integrate mindfulness-based approaches, Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). She supports children (ages 6+), tweens, teens, and adults, offering in-person sessions out of our Fredericksburg office as well as support via telehealth.
