Justis Colbert, Resident in Counseling

Resident in Counseling

Hi, I’m Justis! If you’ve found your way here, I want to begin by saying: I see you. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, unsure of what you need, or simply ready for something to change, you’ve already taken a powerful first step by considering therapy. And I’m honored you’re thinking about taking that step with me.

My approach is gentle but honest, warm but grounded. I show up as my full self, and I invite you to do the same. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship, one built on trust, safety, and the belief that healing is possible, even when life feels heavy or uncertain. In our work together, you can expect a space where your story is respected, your boundaries are honored, and your growth is supported, at your pace.

I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. My work with children is rooted in empathy, playfulness, and patience. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. With adults, couples, and families, I bring the same core values into the room: warmth, honesty, and deep respect for your lived experience. Whether you’re navigating parenting stress, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply trying to find your way back to yourself, I’m here to walk with you, not ahead of you.

My clients often tell me they feel heard, safe, and genuinely cared for. That means everything to me. Therapy isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating a space where real, lasting change can happen. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what’s not, and what healing could look like for you.

If you’re ready to begin, or even just curious, I’d love to meet you where you are. You don’t have to have it all figured out. We can figure it out together.
