Supervisee in Clinical Social Work
Mallory Rubin is a Supervisee of Clinical Social Work and graduated with a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth, and she strives to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel genuinely seen and supported.
Mallory integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). While she draws on these modalities, she views the therapeutic connection itself as central to healing.
Mallory works with adolescents and adults navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, ADHD, identity development, and life transitions. Many of her clients come to therapy feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, disconnected from themselves, or overwhelmed by expectations. She partners with clients to quiet the inner critic, reconnect with values, and build a life that feels sustainable and authentic.
Prior to joining Healthy Minds, Mallory worked in residential and day treatment settings, providing individual, group, and family therapy for clients recovering from eating disorders. These experiences deepened her belief in the importance of meeting clients where they are while holding hope for where they want to go.
Mallory approaches her work with curiosity, compassion, and humor, and feels honored to support clients as they navigate their unique healing journeys.
As a Supervisee, Mallory is also committed to serving clients with competence and integrity and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia under the supervision of Shelton Poulter, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In the event clients have any questions or concerns about Mallory’s work, her supervisor can be contacted at 2201 Charles St., Unit 105 Fredericksburg, VA 22401, 540-845-6940, or spoulter@healthyminds-therapy.com.
