I am talking about how you fill your tanks when you are empty, when you have reached the end of all you can give and need to recharge and relax, what does that feel like or look like for you?
Different Ways to Rest
There are so many different ways that we can get rest, and it may be different for different family members or partners in relationships. Someone who tends to be more extroverted might get rest by seeing close friends. For our more introverted people, it might be getting under the covers and diving into a great book or the latest season of Tiger King!
Whatever it might be that brings you that recharged and refreshed feeling, it is important to identify what works for you and build in some time, either weekly or daily, so that you can get rest and have the energy needed to engage with all that life can bring.
Being intentional with rest can help us to be better partners, parents, siblings, workers, or friends. If we have more energy within ourselves, it is easier to pour out into others when needed!
