Chelsea is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She provides services via telehealth and in-person at the Fredericksburg location. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, recieveing her B.A. in Psychology followed by an M.S. in Clinicial Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Before entering school Chelsea spent 6 years in the military and has a passion for helping military members and their families. Throughout her professional career, Chelsea has worked with clients who belong to various minority and multicultural populations.
She focuses on guiding each client to take an active, autonomous role in therapy. Chelsea has spent time reading and researching common factors in therapy, and it shows time and time again that the relationship between client and therapist is most important. Chelsea’s core belief in human potential drives her work in allowing each person to have an autonomous role in therapy. Chelsea’s prime foundation for therapy combines a person-centered approach, solutions-focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. Chelsea believes in traveling side by side with her clients in their journey to healing.
Chelsea works to hold a safe place for clients where they feel free to express their stories and validate their emotions. Change is most likely to occur when a trusting relationship is established. Chelsea continues to educate herself in the field and stay up-to-date on approaches and techniques.
