Heather Hayden

Licensed Professional Counselor

Heather Hayden is a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers services via telehealth and in-person at the Healthy Minds Therapy Alexandria location. She is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University with a MA in Mental Health Counseling. She received her BS in Psychology from Fairmont State University.

Heather is passionate about working with teens and adults (13+) who want to feel more confident in themselves and their relationships. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, communication issues, or past experiences that still impact you today, she provides a space where you can explore, heal, and grow. She specializes in helping clients strengthen their interpersonal dynamics, whether that means identifying and setting boundaries, improving communication skills, or making sense of formative life events that have shaped who you are.

Therapy with Heather is collaborative and tailored to your needs. She primarily works from a person-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective. She recognizes that everyone is unique, while also helping challenge and reframe any unhelpful thought patterns. Her approach is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth.

Heather’s goal is to help her clients find their inner strength, be proud of who they are and see the value they bring to the world. No matter what you’re going through, you don’t have to figure it out alone. If you’re ready to feel more aligned with yourself and create meaningful change, she would love to support you in that journey.
