Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi! I’m Kristen, a Licensed Professional Counselor here at Healthy Minds. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University. I was drawn to this work by a deep desire to help others create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
In my practice, I use a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to create a safe, welcoming space where my clients can feel supported and truly heard. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Adlerian theory, tailoring each session to fit your unique needs. I also enjoy incorporating creative and expressive techniques to help you explore your experiences in ways that feel authentic to you.
I’m especially passionate about working with members of the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities. I understand the unique challenges that can come with navigating identity, stigma, and societal expectations, and I strive to offer a space where you can build resilience, self-understanding, and self-compassion. I’ve had the privilege of working with queer, trans, and neurodivergent individuals of all ages, and it’s a joy to support each person in their personal growth.
I believe that trust, collaboration, and empathy are the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help you tap into your strengths, clarify your goals, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who you truly are.
