Getting Un-Stuck

MotivationChange is scary, but acknowledging that you have the power to choose something different, may be even scarier. We can all at some point in our lives become paralyzed by fear, anxiety, worry, and disappointment. But, to get unstuck we have to choose change; we can’t wait for it to happen. We have to get curious about why we are stuck and explore our purpose.

Ask yourself the following:

  • What excites you?
  • What are you passionate about?
  • Can you make a small change to incorporate a passion into your life?

Small changes can include really simple things too, like rearranging your furniture! If you are stuck in the past, beating yourself up for failures or past mistakes, work on forgiveness; acknowledge, accept, and move forward. Some of us are in a place of pessimism, to protect ourselves from disappointment. Explore this pessimism and reframe it in belief and hope for positive change, “I can’t” becomes “I can’t yet, but I am working on it.”

And lastly, ask for help. Sometimes the obstacles to change are more than we can tackle on our own. A professional counselor or therapist can help you figure out why you are stuck, and work with you to get un-stuck!
