This continuing education course is designed for healthcare professionals, counselors, social workers, and other practitioners who work with individuals facing behavioral change, particularly those who exhibit resistance. The course focuses on the foundational principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI), a client-centered, directive method for enhancing motivation to change.

Participants will learn how to effectively apply MI techniques to address client ambivalence, increase engagement, and overcome resistance to change. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the unique dynamics of working with clients who are initially resistant or non-compliant with treatment, including how to assess a client’s stage in the change process and tailor interventions accordingly.
