Samantha (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Healthy Minds Therapy and is providing telehealth and in-person services at the Alexandria, VA location. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP accredited). She received her BS in Health Sciences from Frostburg State University.

Samantha works with clients traveling on various journeys and facing new challenges. Some of her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship stressors. She has provided counseling for adults healing from domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and other complex traumas. She has experience assisting clients process their trauma history and developing skills to manage their symptoms.

Samantha’s education in mental health began before pursuing her master’s when she worked at an inpatient behavioral health hospital and a residential behavioral health facility. She has built on this foundation to provide an integrative therapeutic approach that focuses on clients’ goals. Samantha utilizes various counseling approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness practices, and Trauma-Informed care with an emphasis on creating a safe, non-judgmental space. Samantha is a certified mindfulness-informed professional (CMIP) who believes in the relationship between mind, body, and spirit.
